1955 WILLYS PANEL TRUCK 4×4-SOLD

Year: 1955

Originally owned by a Tucson, AZ treasure hunter and gold prospector named Ron Quinn. He purchased the Willys new in December of 1955 after he got out of the Air Force.

He had always dreamed of finding gold and he and his brother Chuck spent years camping out and searching the desert in there trusty Willys searching for treasure. He followed local Indian lore in southern AZ looking for lost Spanish gold. He had many conversations with old locals and spent countless hours going up and down mountains and through gullys and washes following any lead he could get in the Willys.

Finally in 1984 he and the Willys found a hoard of Spanish gold! An accomplished author, Quinn wrote a book Searching for Arizonas Buried Treasures which included his daily diary. If only this little Willys could talk!!

The body of the truck is incredibly rust free as it should be spending its life in the dry Southwest. It has been preserved in as found condition with all of its dings, bruises and character left in tact.

Mechanically it has been completely gone through by Chucks Speed Shop. Everything functions properly and the truck is completely road worthy and drives great.

Engine is the 226ci “Super Hurricane” inline 6 with 3 speed transmission. It has auxiliary in all 3 gears if needed. Comfortably runs 55mph in high OD. It has high and lo range in the transfer case for more gearing options. Also has front lock out hubs installed
